Features

The room

The cellar is in English sycamore, inside Choy House, Castlecrag. The house is by Alex Popov (PopovBass), 1999–2002, and was built by Bellevarde. A library ladder runs along the racking. The central island is a display unit made for magnum-sized bottles. Burgundy bottles have individual storage, with further space for bulk and for cases.

The bench is white Corian, with glass splashbacks around the sink. Display shelving is suede-lined. The room has climate control.

The joinery and the fit-out were made and installed by the client’s own trades, from the design. Eamonn designed the cellar. He did not build, supply or install it, and he does not carry construction liability for the work. The photographs of the house are context only.
