Features

The room

The cellar holds about 5,000 bottles. It is a sandstone room with a contemporary feel: solid African wenge timber, anodised aluminium and stainless steel, and library ladders. The floor is sandstone. Magnums are displayed, and individual bottles sit on suede-lined displays. There are pull-out decanting areas and timber case bulk storage. The room is climate controlled.

The joinery, the stone and the climate plant were made and installed by the client’s own trades, from the design. Eamonn designed the cellar. He did not build, supply or install it, and he does not carry construction liability for the work.
